Our coast to coast charity bike ride
Posted on 25 October 2015
As we approach the end of October I am reminded of all the wonderful things we have done here at My Glasses Club in a effort to continually improve what we do for the benefit of our members. But sometimes it is important to go beyond the thresholds of business and invest time in greater causes.
It was only 4 weeks ago that we took on our biggest challenge to date - to cycle across the country on our bikes in aid of the Costa Foundation which is on a mission to eleviate poverty in remote regions of the world.
We decided to cycle our own route from Morecambe Bay to Runswick Bay so that we could take in the most spectacular scenery which also mean't a lot of climbs as we went through the Forest of Bowland, Dales and eventually North Yorkshire Moors.
We did a total of 117 miles and apart from my knee going 15 miles from Runswick Bay we arrived in good spirits - surprisingly puncture free too. It was wonderful to see the UK at such a gentle pace and appreciate the views over the three days we decided to cycle the route. I would recommend doing it to anyone.
Check out our ride videos below. Special thanks to Greg for capturing them on his phone.
