Buy one, give one
Over 670 million people in the world are visually impaired because they cannot get access to spectacles. So we decided to do something about it.
We are proud to support Vision Aid Overseas (VAO), an international charity dedicated to fighting poverty by transforming access to eye care in developing countries. With over 10% of the world population disadvantaged by poor vision and lack of spectacles we could not think of a better cause to support.
Every time someone buys a pair of glasses we donate £2.20 to VAO, enough for them to provide a pair of glasses to someone that needs them. It's just another fantastic way we're helping to give.
Giving in action
Patricia Katapazi is a 53 year old lady who farms maize and ground nuts in the Livingstone region of Zambia.
News reached her that Vision Aid Overseas had set up a clinic in Mukuni village. For over 4 long years she had not been able to read her beloved Bible, therefore having to go to her local church and just listen.
Her poor eyesight had also made it impossible for her to sew. Having 2 children and living with her grandchild, she was in need of help.
After visiting the Vision Aid Overseas clinic and receiving proper care and treatment, as well as a pair of spectacles, she was excited to head back to her home town, where she has lived for over 20 years, and pick up the Bible. It was amazing how something as simple as a pair of reading glasses was able to transform Patricia's life.
